Salary negotiable within a range starting at $50,000 annually plus benefits. Final salary offer will be based on the experience and qualifications of the applicant.

Position appointed by and serves at the pleasure of a seven-member city commission elected by wards on a nonpartisan basis for 4 year overlapping terms. Full service city with $1.75 million general fund budget plus enterprise funds 40 full time employees.

Minimum qualifications include: B.A. degree in public administration or related field and significant experience in local government management, especially in financial administration, budgeting, public works, public safety, personnel administration and grant application and administration.

Preferred qualifications are M.P.A or related degree; 3 years of progressively responsible local government management experience; familiarity with BARS state budget system. EEO employer.

Polson is located on the Flathead Indian Reservation in a natural amphitheater at the south end of Flathead Lake. This charming lakeside community is the trading center for one of Montana’s most fertile farming areas.
