The College of Technology at The University of Montana – Missoula invites applications for a tenure track, academic year faculty member for the Diesel Technology program.

Will be responsible for development and teaching of assigned courses, shop and equipment organization and maintenance, student advising, assisting in placement and follow-up activities, and participation in faculty committees and activities. Specific areas of assignment may include, but not be limited to hydraulics, diesel engine service, brakes, diesel fuel systems, and automatic/power shift transmission.

Requirements: a Master’s degree; training in diesel equipment operation and maintenance with three to five years of related work experience. Prior teaching experience required. Experience and/or training in power generation a plus.

Applications will be reviewed beginning March 15, 2007, until position is filled to begin fall semester, August 22, 2007. The individual filling the position will be responsible for development and teaching of assigned courses, shop and equipment organization and maintenance, student advising, assisting in placement and follow-up activities, and participation in faculty committees and related activities. Specific areas of assignment may include, but are not limited to teaching SMAW and Oxyacetylene welding, flux core arc welding, fundamentals of metallurgy, metal fabrication, welding maintenance and repair, supervision, and codes and certification.

Requirements: Master’s degree; training in welding; three to five years of work experience related to welding/metals fabrication, and current welding inspector certification (CWI). Prior teaching experience required.
