L.L. Bean story is primer on values, business

When L.L. Bean died in February 1967, the Freeport, Maine, company he founded in 1912 received more than 50,000 letters of condolence from people all over the nation, the celebrated outdoorsman’s grandson, Leon Gorman, tells readers in his biography of the man and the business.
