Report touts ties between Montana, tribes

Progress cited includes recognition of Little Shell Tribe

Gov. Brian Schweitzer spoke with leaders from Montana’s American Indian tribes at least twice a month last year, formally recognized a landless tribe and, for the first time, included Montana’s reservations in the state’s official economic figures, a new report shows.
