OCAST Funds More Research and Launches Seed Capital Program

The Oklahoma Center for the Advancement of Science and Technology (OCAST) is moving forward in three important funding areas: research, seed capital and small businesses. First, OCAST announced last week the approval of $1.8 million in research projects to bring their total investment to more than$56 million since their launch in 1987.

This latest round of funding includes support for research in chemical technologies, pharmaceuticals, and biofuels. Second, OCAST is also taking the first step in creating a $5 million dollar seed capital program by releasing a request for proposals from organizations that desire to run the program.

And finally, they are launching two Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) matching fund programs to help innovative small businesses for federal SBIR funds. Learn more about OCAST at: http://www.ocast.state.ok.us/
