Mead me at the Trapper Creek Winery in Hamilton, Montana

Chaucer, Beowulf, Viking warriors, the ancient Greeks, Thor’s wife and Queen Elizabeth are not-so-silent partners with a Hamilton family in a new business that has ancient tales to tell.

In a historic carriage house now filled with the smell and equipment of wine making, Ken and Lisa Schultz are turning out Montana versions of mead, an ancient drink that mesmerized gods, emboldened warriors and inspired poets.

Trapper Creek Winery http://hamiltonmontana.com/web.html?go=42 has been open about a year, introducing a label that features a pleasantly gruff, rosy-cheeked Viking, clearly a man who enjoys a mug of mead after a day of hard battle.
