Position: Network Operations Center Technician

Hours: 24/7 support

Job Description: Work with other qualified professionals to provide 24/7 network support. Monitor, troubleshoot and escalate issues related to Vision Net’s http://www.vision.net IP and transport network, our owners and other commercial companies that we provide service to. Provide the State of Montana VPN, DSL and Internet service support. Provide ITV department tier 2 troubleshooting in addition to streaming and encoding. Coordinate planned and unplanned maintenance with Vision Net employees and affected customers. Coordinate, monitor and troubleshoot E-911 issues that are connected to the statewide network.

Requirements: The person applying must have the flexibility to work shifts required to provide 24/7 coverage. Because the scheduled shifts are very critical and often only have one person on the shift, the position demands a very dependable and reliable technician. Computer hardware and software knowledge, good multitasking skills and ability to learn new tasks quickly are a must. The applicant should have the ability to make sound judgment decisions quickly while under pressure. Excellent communication skills are necessary for the coordination demands of the job.

Technical Assistance Center

Entry level position in an IT Company.

Vision Net http://www.vision.net is a growing Company in the telecommunications field. Our company is a backbone provider for eight rural telephone companies in Montana. In addition, we have an extensive interactive television network capable of worldwide video conferences. We provide technical support for our owner’s end users and trouble reporting for several other companies. We have a world class Network Operation Center where we monitor the network 24/7 for outages. Our server department manages upgrades and troubleshoots our vast array of servers. Our network department oversees the upkeep and support of our routers and switches. We use, build, and maintain VOIP phone systems. Additionally we have just landed a contract to provide support to the E911 system.
