Career Opportunity – Plant Manager – Corn Products International – Missoula

We are seeking an experienced Plant Manager to start up and run our recently acquired oat processing plant in Missoula, Montana. In this role, the Plant Manager will be responsible for the execution of GTC Nutrition’s strategies for meeting all production, cost, quality, safety, governmental regulations, community relations and company standards at the GTC Nutrition’s oat processing facility, which should result in meeting the GTC Nutrition yearly operational income target. This individual will work closely with the GTC support staff to ensure a high degree of customer satisfaction globally and develop and maintain a collaborative team environment amongst the employees in the Missoula facility and with the GTC Nutrition management and support team.

Key Result Areas:

Strategy – Leads and directs the GTC Nutrition’s Missoula plant organization to assist in and support the development of and the execution of GTC Nutrition’s strategies and goals in order to achieve defined production and quality targets.

Customer Service – Provide consultation and assistance to the GTC Nutrition staff in the development and implementation of a continuous improvement process for customer satisfaction for GTC Nutrition’s global customers utilizing the Customer Care process to develop targets and monitor progress in order to achieve improved customer satisfaction and support profitable sales growth globally.

Safety & Regulatory Compliance– Ensure that safety, health, quality and regulatory compliance programs are maintained that keep the GTC Nutrition Missoula plant in compliance with company policies and programs as well as all government regulations; specifically OSHA, FDA, and EPA.

Capital Expenditure Program – Work with Corporate Engineering and GTC Nutrition’s staff to develop and implement a GTC Nutrition Missoula plant Capital Expenditure Program that supports the achievement of business strategies and execution of projects within budget at targeted return on investment.

Commercial – Provide consultation and assistance to the GTC Nutrition Commercial, Scientific and Applications teams in the development and implementation of the GTC Nutrition global commercial development, marketing and sales strategies.

New Product Development – Provide consultation and assistance to the GTC Nutrition Commercial, Scientific and Applications teams in the identification, research, initial and pilot testing and commercialization of new oat based ingredients and products utilizing the GTC Nutrition Missoula plant’s head and co-products.

Human Resources – Provide leadership for effective management of human resources, including development of people, effective organizational structure and work processes in order to develop and sustain an organization capable of meeting the needs of the business. Develop and foster a team environment amongst the Missoula plant employees and with the GTC Nutrition staff.

Selection Criteria:

Bachelors degree or equivalent and significant management level experience in manufacturing plant operations. Engineering or prior plant start-up experience a significant plus

Demonstrated ability to effectively and efficiently start up and manage a manufacturing plant, lead change and coach a group of diverse employees to improve individual performance and overall plant performance

Demonstrated ability to establish and manage a manufacturing plant in a team-based environment and to challenge traditional methods of accomplishing tasks or work activities. Able to identify and implement creative, innovative solutions.

Proven ability to lead and facilitate a manufacturing team environment and build consensus in a positive manner with customers, internal support resources and team members.

Strong planning, organizing, and time-management skills. Proficiency in setting priorities and executing multiple assignments in a timely and efficient manner.

Experience in conducting internal investigations and demonstrated ability to reach conclusions and determine necessary actions.

Proficient in working with spreadsheets, word processing, and other work-related databases

Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills.
