MEDA to Coordinate Statewide Business Expansion and Retention (BEAR) Program.

MEDA has been commissioned by Montana Department of Commerce and the Governor’s Office of Economic Development to serve as coordinator for the statewide Business Expansion and Retention (BEAR) program. A MEDA BEAR Working Group was formed at the MEDA Fall Conference and held a conference call November 1st. You are welcome to read the minutes of this meeting at http://www.medamembers.org/bear.html

We are fortunate in that we will not be starting from scratch. Montana has several quality BEAR programs already up and functioning that we will lean on for support, training, troubleshooting and lessons learned.

Are you interested in serving as the “point person” for your area? To begin with, “area” is defined in a broad sense using the CRDC regional lines. As people sign on to serve as the point person, we will drill down and identify specific administration boundaries.

Please contact the MEDA office if you would like to be added to the BEAR Listserve. This email list will be used solely for BEAR purposes, information and updates. Learn more about BEAR on the MEDA website at http://www.medamembers.org/bear.html

Thank you,

Gloria O’Rourke, Coordinator
