University administrators defend lobbying expenditures

University administrators defended money spent on lobbying activities to the Legislative Audit Committee on Wednesday morning.

A new analysis by legislative auditors shows that Montana’s colleges and universities spent almost $500,000 on lobbying in 2005. At the same time, federal earmarks for the schools have risen.
