The CATO Institute flunks Montana Governor for budget and tax policies. Governor Schweitzer Disagrees

Gov. Brian Schweitzer received a failing grade for his budget and tax polices from a prominent libertarian think-tank, The Cato Institute.

Schweitzer’s spokeswoman Sarah Elliott disputed the Cato Institute grade.

“We cut taxes, balanced our budget and are living within our means,” Elliott said. “We have a surplus.”
