Presenting Companies Selected for 2006 Bend Venture Conference

The 2006 Bend Venture Conference is proud to announce the finalists who will be presenting at this year’s event. Six companies from around the region have been chosen to showcase their business to a panel of angel investors.

Molecular Imaging Products – Bend, OR
MIP is a rapidly growing manufacturer and distributor of life science products with an emphasis on the pre-clinical imaging industry. The company’s customer base consists of universities, biotech and pharmaceutical companies, and non-profit research institutions. MIP’s expansive product line includes chemicals, reagents, small animal inhalant anesthesia systems, physiological monitoring equipment and accessories.

Consumer Empowerment Services – Bend, OR
CES has designed an interactive web based software intended for use among Medicaid and Medicare consumers. This software application is designed to promote greater empowerment of people with disabilities to direct their own services. Currently, CES targets a wide range of local, state, and federal government agencies that are engaged in human services through the Medicaid & Medicare programs.

Micro-Flow Catheter Solutions – Bend, OR
Micro-Flow is a medical device company developing disposable catheters to facilitate minimally invasive body drainage after surgery. This company is
developing breakthrough technology to prevent clogging within drainage catheters. By solving the clogging problem the company’s products will allow doctors to utilize minimally invasive drainage tubes, resulting in a reduction in concern for clogging and increased patient comfort.

New Parking Inc. – Calgary, AB Canada
New Parking has developed a unique wireless parking management system. This system applies existing advanced wireless and interactive telephone technology for electronic parking payment on street parking meters. The company’s wireless approach significantly cuts the cost of collection of street meters, while simultaneously increasing parking revenues.

Lumencor – Sunnyvale, CA – Portland,OR
Lumencor has developed an affordable light engine for analysis tools used in the biotechnology industry. The company’s light engines utilize solid state luminescent materials and clever light management tools. With all the advances in biotechnology, the need for affordable instrumentation is great. Formotus, Inc. – Bellevue, WA
