Eastern education: University of Montana plans move forward for China campus

In his State of the University address, University of Montana President George Dennison didn’t mention the plan to open a UM branch in China, but that doesn’t mean the idea is far from his mind.

Now some two years in the making, UM is developing a curriculum for the proposed campus in the port city of Xiamen, and things in China have been ticking along, Dennison said.

“I thought it would go a little faster than it has, but you have to do things in accordance with the Chinese schedule,” Dennison said.
