Hill County Commissioner (Montana) flies to Washington D.C. to defend Big Sky Airline

A Hill County commissioner was getting nervous about his flight today. It’s not the traveling itself that leaves him anxious nor the fact that many Hi-Liners affectionately refer to Big Sky Airlines http://www.bigskyair.com/ as “Big Scare,” it is what he will do once he arrives at his destination. Doug Kaercher is taking off for Washington, D.C., to testify before the Senate about the need for federal funding for flights to and from the Havre City-County Airport.

It will mark his first time testifying before the Senate. Big Sky, the only airline to fly out of the airport, needs subsidies to keep afloat. Kaercher was invited by the Senate to speak about the reliance of the company on these funds and why dollars should be allotted to keep the flights touching down in Hill County.
