Idaho Tech council OKs legislative wish list to boost Idaho high-tech industry

Group will seek $38.8 million to boost Idaho high-tech industry and $50 million investment tax credit

The Governor’s Science and Technology Advisory Council agreed Tuesday to ask state leaders for $38.8 million to boost Idaho’s high-tech industry.

In a teleconference, the council also recommended that legislators create a five-year, $50 million technology investment tax credit.

Council Member Archie Clemins, president of Caribou Technologies in Boise, urged the council this summer to be aggressive and recommend at least a $50 million package. He said Tuesday that he thinks this plan can be sold to both the governor and the Legislature.
