Resodyn awarded $100,000 SBIR Phase I competitive contract

Resodyn Corp. http://www.resodyn.com/ has been awarded a Phase I competitive contract worth $100,000 from the Department of Energy Small Business Innovation Research program.

Under the sponsorship of this contract, Resodyn Corp. will develop an advanced drilling process that uses high-intensity, low-frequency sound energy to drill small diameter, deep well exploration holes.

Richard Williams, senior mechanical engineer at Resodyn and principal investigator on the project, said: “This advanced method for drilling addresses a need established by the U.S. Department of Energy for the construction of small diameter, deep wells that can be used for energy exploration and are environmentally benign.

“Exploration and development of new energy resources in environment-ally sensitive areas can benefit greatly from a reduction in the size of the associated equipment and operations that the new technology being developed by Resodyn Corporation will offer.
