The airline business is a tough one even in the best of times. But with over-capacity in the industry resulting in ferocious price competition; high labor costs; cantankerous unions; oil prices pushing $80 a barrel; and increased security measures, it’s among the most challenging ways to make money anywhere.
To succeed in this environment while building a brand that customers love is a colossal feat. But David Neeleman, founder and CEO of JetBlue (JBLU), and his extended management team have done just that.
