McLaughlin Research Institute http://www.montana.edu/wwwmri/ scientist Pin-Xian Xu has accepted an appointment as associate professor in the human genetics department at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine in New York City.
Her last day at Mclaughlin was Tuesday.
"This is an excellent opportunity for my research to grow," Xu said. "In addition to generous financial support for my lab, I will have access to human DNA samples (from Mt. Sinai patients) in which to identify mutations."
Xu said her field of research is very competitive, and while she was not actively seeking a new position, Mt Sinai made her an offer she couldn’t pass up.
