Butte Business, BuyMyTextbooks.biz, Launches Web Site for Students to Buy, Sell Textbooks

Like most college students, Pat Kujawa will pay a hefty price for textbooks when he returns to school this fall.

"I’ll spend at least $200," said Kujawa, a Butte native and Montana State University student.

While students can resell books to college bookstores at the semester’s end "they still don’t buy back for much money," he said.

But a Butte business is offering potential relief for students struggling with skyrocketing textbook prices.

"We’re providing the mechanism that they can get in touch," said Skip Evans, owner of Big Sky Penguin, a local Internet software business.

Evans recently created http://www.BuyMyTextbooks.biz, a Web site allowing students to trade or sell textbooks online.

"It allows students to get in touch with other students," said Evans.

The site, still in a set-up phase, works similarly to eBay.
