"Entrepreneurial Tech Transfer"

Universities are "ground zero" for the new innovation economy and are increasingly looked to by federal and state economic development officials to produce the jobs and wealth in a region. Entrepreneurial tech transfer, both a complement and an alternative to tech transfer based on licensing patents, focuses on successful practices to create and fund start-ups.

By attracting and enlisting the help of entrepreneurs, alumni, angel investors and venture capitalists, entrepreneurial tech transfer is an effective tool to commercialize technologies from university and federal R&D.
