Politicians should defend positions. Project Vote Smart

Every other year, during the summer prior to the November general election, Project Vote Smart asks questions of political candidates throughout the country in an attempt to pin them down on the important issues of the day.

Every time, many politicians brush them off, often at the insistence of campaign advisers, consultants and leaders of both parties. So the project, based on a ranch near Philipsburg, asks newspapers to put pressure on the politicians, asking them what they’ve got to hide.

So, here we go again.
