Need for qualified workers stressed for WIRED Grant success

Assistant U.S. Secretary of Labor Emily Stover DeRocco toured a job-assistance center Tuesday and explained why the Labor Department continues to grant millions in assistance to a market with a low unemployment rate.
"The old Labor Department would have seen a 2.7 percent unemployment rate and said, ‘Our job is done here,’ " DeRocco said, after business leaders told her a few communities in the region’s labor market face labor shortages.
