Free ParKids program in Yellowstone set for early August

A free three-day camp focusing on Yellowstone National Park’s thermal features will be offered for kids 8- to 12-years old in August.

Montana State University’s Thermal Biology Institute is sponsoring the program in conjunction with the National Park Service.

The camp, called "ParKids," will have the first two days in Bozeman at Anderson School working with MSU and Yellowstone National Park staff and the third day on a fieldtrip in the Park with TBI staff. The focus of the summer day camp will be Yellowstone Park’s thermal environments.

The camp has two separate sessions. The first runs Tuesday, Aug. 1 through Thursday, Aug. 3. A second camp will be Tuesday, Aug. 8 through Thursday, Aug. 10. Youth can sign up for either camp. The program will be the same for both camps, and each camp is limited to 15 children.

To register children for the program, contact Laurie Kinna by emailing her at [email protected] or by calling (406) 624-6712. Parent volunteers may also apply.
