New book showcases work of MSU graphic design grads

While their designs are usually unsigned, the 75 graduates of the MSU graphics design program included in the recently published book, ‘Working,’ have made a name for themselves.
From books to billboards, graphics design is everywhere. The artists who created the art, however, are not so obvious, because while the design may be ubiquitous, it is also unsigned.

The creators of a new book hope to remedy that, in Montana at least, with "Working: A showcase of graphic design alumni from Montana State University." Published in May, the book features 75 designers now plying their trade in studios from New York to Los Angeles.

"Traditionally graphic design is anonymous, yet we use and work with it every day with logos, signage, advertising, entertainment and information," said Jeff Conger, an MSU graphics design professor who edited the book, coordinating the project with fellow professors Anne Garner, Stephanie Newman and Ben Meyer.
