Three UM business school graduates work as a team – "Warriors, Workers, Whiners and Weasels"

Tim O’Leary (class of 1981) just published his first book. It’s called Warriors, Workers, Whiners and Weasels http://www.warriorsandweasels.com/ and talks about the four different personality types that one encounters in life and business. It’s a fun business book, with lots of good insights for any student, manager and entrepreneur.

Mario Schulzke (class of 2002) just managed the launch of a fully integrated online marketing campaign.

Patrick Marzullo (class of 2006) just graduated, moved to Portland and has started to gain some valuable experiences in his internship at an ad agency.

What this story interesting is that all three work together in their endeavors. Tim O’Leary is the founder and CEO of Respond2 Communications, America’s largest independently owned Direct Response agency. After meeting Tim at a business school board meeting, Mario joined Respond2 Communications and is now heading up the newly founded new media unit. He moved to Portland from Los Angeles, where he was managing the business development for a brand agency called Wongdoody. Patrick came to Respond2 Communications after contacting and consistently following up with Tim O’Leary about a possible internship. Needless to be said, he succeeded. Interestingly, all three were a student of MaryEllen Campbell’s who won’t name favorites.

The three of them together marketed the launch of Tim’s new book.

It’s a viral website where visitors can submit their favorite weasel stories and have a chance to win a video iPod every month.

So far, the book launch has been a great success. Out of four million books, Warriors, Workers, Whiners and Weasels has steadily been one of the top 5000 most selling books on Amazon.com. Many bloggers and even business publications have written about the blog and various radio and TV stations have interviewed Tim. One of the interviews was done by Youngstown, Ohio’s most popular weatherman, Frank Marzullo. He’s actually Patrick’s brother.

It’s a small world, so make the most out of the network that you’ll build during your time at the University of Montana. Eat at least five servings of fruits and vegetables every day and look for Tim’s book at Amazon.com, Barnes and Nobles, Borders and bookstores everywhere.

“WARRIORS, WORKERS, WHINERS, & WEASELS”

New Book Provides Career Management Guide to Navigating the Workplace by
Understanding Four Personality Types

Entrepreneur and Author Tim O’Leary today announced the launch of his new book, Warriors, Workers, Whiners, & Weasels: Understanding and Using the Four Personality Traits to Your Advantage.

The book provides a guide for professionals at every level to excel in the workplace by leveraging the inherent traits of their surrounding colleagues. By classifying co-workers according to four types – Warriors, Workers, Whiners and Weasels (the four W’s), Mr. O’Leary offers suggestions on how to advance within an organization, manage more efficiently, and understand the strengths and weaknesses of each personality type.

The book “is an informative and humorous read that is a must-have for today’s road warriors,” said Jeff Sotzing, President of Johnny Carson Entertainment. It’s a “fast moving, insightful book with practical ideas you can use immediately to be more effective with everyone in your business life,” added Brian Tracy, Author of Goals! And The Psychology of Selling.

Getting to Know the Four W’s:

WARRIORS—These are the aggressive innovators who conceptualize and define the organization and fight the tough battle to make it successful. The great ones make their customers feel good about the process and the price, and make them anxious to come back.

WORKERS—The backbone of the company – the dependable soldiers who take direction from the Warriors and make things happen. A Warrior is worthless without them.

WHINERS—The Whiner is always negative and dissatisfied. The most damaging ones can be a cancer to an organization, spreading discontent, inventing problems, and converting impressionable Workers and budding Warriors to Whiners. Still, with proper management they can be an asset to an organization, so take immediate action.

WEASELS—The Weasel is lazy and has a lack of drive and an extreme sense of entitlement. They often cost an organization a "Weasel Tax" – the high price unwittingly paid for Weasel productivity loss, theft costs, and salaries for worthless Weasels.

“We all know each of these personality types. We live around them, work with them, admire some of them, and have great disdain for others,” adds Tim O’Leary, Entrepreneur and Author of the book. “My book adds clarity and an understanding of people that helps the reader to navigate the world a little better and help lead to a new generation of Warriors and Workers to fix some of the problems the current ruling generations have screwed up.”

Warriors, Workers, Whiners, & Weasels is published by Xephor press and available today at Amazon.com (www.amazon.com), Barnes & Noble and XX (other?) bookstores. The official website for the book can be found at http://www.warriorsandweasels.com. The author has also launched a blog encouraging visitors to post their most compelling examples of Warriors and Workers and expose the tales of Whiners and Weasels at http://blog.warriorsandweasels.com.
