GlaxoSmithKline looking forward to 100 new hires in Ravalli County
| June 12, 2006 |
County commissioners, the Ravalli County Economic Development Authority and officials from GlaxoSmithKline finalized paper work last week to seek a grant to train and hire employees at GSK.
The grant will allow GSK to create 53 new jobs within 12 months, including a certain amount of jobs for low- to moderate-income Ravalli County residents.
Officials have been working on the Community Development Block Grant from the Montana Department of Commerce for three months. It calls for GSK to match the state's $400,000 to create jobs and train employees.
One stipulation in the grant is that 51 percent of the jobs created are for low- to moderate-income residents, who will make a minimum of $13.58 per hour.
