Study Looks at Research Universities as Drivers for Economic Development

A new study by the Center for Regional Strategies recommends ways in which universities and their municipalities can work together to achieve economic development. The study, Research and The Regional Economy: The Research University as Driver, examines the relationship between Virginia Tech and its surrounding area and recommends ways of “bridging the distance” between town and gown.
