Twenty-six top American Indian Students Chosen for Leadership Program

Twenty-six top American Indian students have been chosen to attend the first Indian Student Leadership Symposium offered by The University of Montana’s O’Connor Center for the Rocky Mountain West http://www.crmw.org .

The program will be held Friday and Saturday, April 28-29, at Salish Kootenai College in Pablo and UM in Missoula. Students were nominated for the symposium by their colleges and represent a broad range of disciplines and tribes.

Iris Pretty Paint, the symposium’s lead educator, said, "Our enlarged view of the school-to-work transition will encourage and prepare this generation of Indian leaders to envision a new future and a new role within their tribal communities, organizations, governments and beyond."
