Call center officials in Williston, ND say worker shortage is forcing closing

The manager of a call center here says a regional worker shortage is forcing it to close.

"Our business is based on labor, and we have to find enough employees to run the business," said Justin Hall, manager of the Novo 1 call center. "In Williston, that is a challenge. There are a number of businesses here. There are a significant number of openings, but not enough employees."

Hall said 30 people are being laid off May 1.

Novo 1 is an in-bound call center with offices in North Dakota and Montana. Besides the 30 positions in Williston, the company also has 225 call associates in Billings, Mont., 50 in Glendive, Mont. and 70 in Havre, Mont.
