Expanding, Retaining Best Approach to Growth – The "BEAR" Program

"Economic development programs aren’t doing a very good job because they aren’t giving value to employers and business owners," claim two specialists who were in Billings last week talking to economic developers, and a few business owners, from across the state.

Del Birch and Laith Wardi of Pennsylvania, the developers and owners of Executive Pulse, held a seminar to teach economic development people how to reach business owners, and the importance of doing so.

While economic development serves a wide array of community interests, said Wardi, the business owner remains "our primary focus" because, "if we do good things for them, good things will flow to all the other constituents."

"We are in business to serve the business community," said Wardi, "The stuff we are selling are ideas and assistance. If we do that very well other pieces of the puzzle will fall into place."
