New Arizona State University Dean of Engineering, Deirdre Meldrum is eager for ‘evolution’ in research

Tomorrow’s engineers and the people who teach them at Arizona State University will delve deeper in research and dabble more in fields ranging from oceanography to biology.
It’s part of the change coming to the Ira A. Fulton School of Engineering as it transitions from Peter Crouch’s 11-year tenure as dean to Deirdre Meldrum’s move to Arizona and into administration.
Meldrum, a professor of electrical engineering at the University of Washington, takes over in January as dean of the ASU’s Fulton school.
