Burley man, Neil Justesen named Idaho Small Business person of the year

Neil Justesen, owner of Southern Field Welding in Burley, is the 2006 U.S. Small Business Person of the Year for Region IV.

The annual award is given to small business owners for their dedication and support of small business in their communities.

Justesen was nominated for the award by Kelly Delmore, small business loan assistant with D.L. Evans Bank,

"About a year prior to his nomination, Idaho Metal Fabrication ran into some financial difficulty and were about to declare bankruptcy," Delmore said. "Neil stepped in and acquired the business through the SBA’s loan program and was able to save a lot of local jobs by retaining 15 former employees."
