Montana Increases Resources For Businesses

Evan Barrett, chief business officer of Montana’s Office of Economic Opportunity, is unabashedly excited about business opportunities in his state. “We have a new approach to economic development at the state level that is aggressive, creative and backed with resources,” he says.

The resources Barrett refers to include a new workforce training program that reimburses an eligible employer up to $5,000 in training costs per job created, and the establishment of an Economic Development Trust Fund. Both of these initiatives were passed in the last legislative session.
