High-tech wizardry rules at Montana aeronautics conference

Aviation companies from across Montana filled the Red Lion Colonial Hotel Friday, sporting the latest technology, equipment and trends in aeronautics during the annual three-day conference.

Jim Lynch, director of the Montana Department of Transportation, which includes the aeronautics division, made the rounds Friday, chatting with vendors set up in the hotel conference room.

“This conference brings all the flying sectors under one roof,” Lynch said. “Aviation is very important to Montana — we’re a very big state. To carry on general commerce, we need aviation.”
