Biodiesel plant announced by Casper, Wyoming firm, HTH Wind Energy Inc. in Fairfield, Iowa

A Casper-based company has announced its first big project: a biodiesel refinery that will be built in Fairfield, Iowa.

The HTH Wind Energy Inc. plant will convert soybean oil, canola oil and other vegetable oils into B100 biodiesel, which will be sold directly to terminal facilities for blending with regular diesel. Construction is expected to begin in late spring and take about a year.

HTH Wind Energy plans to build the plant through a subsidiary, PowerSHIFT Energy Company Inc., and in a joint venture with ReFuel America Inc., according to Dan Leach, chief executive officer for HTH.
