More angels with dollars expected to help startups

OEF’s Angel Oregon boosts the pot for business venture

As four fledgling companies contend for cash at the Angel Oregon 2006 event, they’ll play to an audience of Portland’s newest — and increasingly attentive — investors.

In a convergence that’s occurred within Oregon’s improved economy, a record number of investors (30-plus) will pour money into a company chosen from a record number (59) of Angel Oregon applicants.

This year’s Angel Oregon winner-take-all prize of $150,000 also boosts last year’s total by $25,000. The Oregon Entrepreneurs Forum, which sponsors the event, began offering the prize for the first time in 2005.
