Healthwise grows in Boise, Idaho, unveils new way to help patients. You may have used this company’s services, even if you’ve never heard of it.

Celebrating its 30th anniversary, Healthwise http://www.healthwise.org/ is building a $2.6 million, three-story addition to house a staff that has grown to 154.

Healthwise employees can bring canine companions to work. CEO Don Kemper brings Tuva, a "pure-bread Boise brown dog." ("It’s my joke," he says.) They also keep each other company on daily walks up Harrison Hollow.

Healthwise, which turned 30 last year, is a non-profit organization that provides health information to consumers through an information database and health handbooks.

The company has a global reach and is known among its clients as a leader in the health information industry. The company also is expanding its headquarters and its product line, but many people in Boise still don’t know about the homegrown business that could help them manage their health.
