Entrepreneur Day returns to MSU on Feb. 16

Greg Gianforte, CEO of RightNow Technologies, will be the keynote speaker at the second annual Entrepreneur Day to be held Thursday, Feb. 16, in room 275 of the Strand Union Building on the Montana State University campus.

The MSU College of Business hosts the all-day event as part of its commitment to enhance entrepreneurial spirit and education in the area, according to Jackie Sather, organizer of the event.

The day will be broken into three segments. A panel of successful, young entrepreneurs will be discussing entrepreneurship as it relates to students in the morning session.

During the noon hour Gianforte will address the role of entrepreneurs in Montana in "Bootstrapping: How to start and grow a business with almost no money."

An afternoon panel hosted by established entrepreneurs will also provide information to budding entrepreneurs.

Sather said Entrepreneur Day reflects the MSU College of Business’ commitment to improving the economic development of Montana.

"The college’s Alderson Program in Entrepreneurship can make a significant contribution to the economic development of the state and provide a framework for an outstanding educational experience for students," Sather said. "Within the college curriculum, entrepreneurship coursework is offered to students from any major in the university through a 30 credit-hour entrepreneurship minor. "

Entrepreneur Day is funded, in part, by a grant from the U.S. Small Business Administration.
