PPL Montana to distribute $200,000 in state grants

The company that operates the five dams on the Missouri River near Great Falls and other electrical generating operations in Montana has money to give away.

PPL Montana says it will distribute $200,000 in grants in the state in 2006. The first round of grants will be awarded at the end of March.

"As a major corporation with 500 employees in Montana, PPL Montana is proud to support the dedication of fellow Montanans who want to improve the cultural and economic growth of our state through imaginative projects," said Lisa Perry, the company’s community affairs manager. "I encourage community groups, environmental organizations and academic institutions to apply."
