Financing muscle for spinal implant. Redmond-based Archus Orthopedics Inc. raises $35 million

Redmond-based Archus Orthopedics Inc. announced Wednesday that it has raised $35 million for its experimental spinal implant device, giving the region’s biomedical community another financial boost.

The money will support a clinical trial for the tiny, stainless steel and titanium product, which is designed to restore normal motion to people who suffer from spine problems, said Jim Fitzsimmons, Archus chief executive.
