Economic development done right in Butte

The Butte-Silver Bow commissioners last week delayed a decision on funding new business developments until there is a set process for spending mine trust funds.
We’re glad they did. Butte Chief Executive Paul Babb had gotten into some dispute with the council in the past over spending $47,000 for relocating power lines for the construction of a MacKenzie River pizza parlor. And, there’s been other glitches when protocol was not fully followed.
