Hatfield School of Government at Portland State University Looking for a Few Good EGov Interns

The Center for Digital Government http://www.centerdigitalgov.com/ and the Mark O. Hatfield School of Government http://www.hatfieldschool.pdx.edu/ at Portland State University, in an effort to attract next-generation innovators to the public sector, announce the eGov Interns program.

George K. Beard, director of Portland State’s Electronic Government Program, is looking for 15 graduate students from a variety of programs to work in electronic government this coming summer. Interns will also participate in a five-day Electronic Government Institute in June at the Hatfield School of Government at Portland State University in Portland, Oregon.

The eGov Interns Web site http://www.egovinterns.org/ provides key information to prospective interns, university placement directors, agencies and not-for-profit enterprises interested in sponsoring a 2006 eGov Intern.

"The program was founded," says the eGov Interns Web site, "on the belief that changing demographics and the fiscal challenges facing public enterprises make this an ideal moment for connecting the extraordinary talent in our nation’s best graduate schools to the extraordinary transformational challenges facing public enterprises."
