Lawsuits affect more than finances

Threatened and actual lawsuits affect small businesses more than legal fees and damages, according to a study for the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Office of Advocacy.
"Most small-business owners are invested personally in their businesses," says the study, "Impact of Litigation on Small Business." "Litigation causes not just financial loss but also substantial emotional hardship and often changes the tone of the business."
