Montana Film promotion office needs work

Money alone isn’t enough to lure Hollywood back to Montana, a group of media professionals said here Wednesday.

Montana’s film promotion office needs a long list of improvements if the state is to reap the full benefits of the movie-making incentive package passed by the state Legislature earlier this year, the Governor’s Film and Television Advisory Council said.

"The Film Office needs to be modernized and energized through major changes in structure, responsibilities and leadership," said a report approved unanimously by the council.

Montana once had a bustling film industry, attracting major motion pictures as well as television shows and commercials that spent millions of dollars annually.
