Contact your Legislator to sign Senator Jeff Mangan’s special session petition

Dear Montana Chamber Member:

The 2005 Montana Legislature passed and Governor Brian Schweitzer signed SB 133 into law which creates the Montana Equity Capital Investment Act. The Montana Chamber supported this Act. Unfortunately, funding was omitted during the closing hours of the session and the Act cannot be implemented. Questions were also raised about the Act’s constitutionality. We agree with the Chief Legal Counsel for the Legislature who believes the Act is constitutional as written until a court rules otherwise.

Senator Jeff Mangan is circulating a petition to get this issue before the Special Session.
