Job placement services have been finding it difficult all year to find employees to fill openings in many sectors of the economy.

They may not pay much, but there are plenty of jobs waiting in North Idaho for those willing to work hard and start at the bottom.

Employment agencies are trying to keep pace with the demand for entry-level labor positions in the region.

"We’re sending out 200 to 300 a week, but during the summer it could have been 300 to 400," said Gretchen Crofford, branch manager at Labor Ready in Coeur d’Alene. "It’s been a struggle most of the year to find people."
