Big Sky Carvers, Montana Silversmiths chooses Butte for new distribution facility

Big Sky Carvers, Montana Silversmiths http://www.bigskycarvers.com/ merged in June and began a search for new distribution facility

After a six-month intensive search around Montana, Butte wins.

Two of the state’s most successful locally grown businesses, Montana Silversmiths and Big Sky Carvers, have chosen to consolidate their distribution operations at a former Safeway warehouse on the Flat near the Butte airport.

Last June, Montana Silversmiths of Columbus and Big Sky Carvers of Belgrade merged under the name Group Montana Inc. Since so many products are shipped around North American and overseas, the company needed a more functional distribution facility.

“We looked all over the state for a central shipping location starting last July, and Butte was the overwhelming choice,” said Group Montana Chief Executive Dennis Potzman.

Two Montana Silversmith distribution centers in Billings and a Big Sky Carvers distribution facility in Belgrade will be combined at the 78,000 square-foot warehouse being leased in Butte.
