The University of Montana is working to woo Montana high school graduates and help them cover the costs of higher education.

The University of Montana is working to woo Montana high school graduates and help them cover the costs of higher education.

In Kalispell on Monday, university President George Dennison announced a $1.3 million, two-year pilot project to help modest- and low-income Montanans pay for four years of schooling at the University of Montana or two years at its college of technology.

One caveat, however: It is aimed at those willing to work at their education and maintain a reasonable grade-point average.
