Tech guru, Guy Kawasaki sees rebound in start-ups

When Guy Kawasaki worked at Apple Computer, it, well, really wasn’t work.

Nearly two decades after leaving the Apple campus on Infinite Loop, where he helped to sell the world on the Macintosh, Kawasaki is still giddy about the experience.

“It was like being paid to go to Disneyland,” the start-up guru says of his time as an Apple fellow at the Cupertino company during the mid-1980s. “Intense? Well, yes, it was intense. But at that time in my life, I was young and I could deal with intensity. We really thought we are going to change the world — and I think we did.”

He has written about the experience this way: “When I saw what a Macintosh could do, the clouds parted and the angels started singing.”
