San Antonio is inching forward in venture capital race, study shows

Two companies in the San Antonio/South Texas area attracted about $12 million in venture capital investments for the third quarter of this year.

Rackspace Managed Hosting, a provider of Internet infrastructure services that manages Web servers for clients, received about $7 million from Palo Alto, Calif.-based Norwest Venture Partners.

"I think it is important to get VC investment from across the nation and that brings visibility to San Antonio," he says.
